This past Sunday I had the pleasure of photographing the Knit Clothing Line Chaos Knits
( http://chaosknits.com). Photographed on location in San Francisco's historic warehouse district. Here's a sneak peek featuring one of the knit headbands and scarf. These photos will also be featured in the fall issue of Chaos Magazine! These beautiful knits make great gifts for the fall and winter months. Featuring lovely fall colors for perfect Christmas and birthday gifts.

So, it's time of year again..the leaves are starting to change colors and the cooler temperatures make me yearn for hot cocoa at night. Which also means that Thanksgiving is just around the corner and the holidays are almost here. I love photographing high school seniors, Taylor is a senior at Elk Grove High School. I photographed her senior photos in Old Sacramento with beautiful natural light. Sacramento can be quite beautiful this time of year, and I've got some great locations lined up for beautiful fall portraits. Please feel free to contact me and book your session before it's too late.

So, recently I have started styling my photo shoots. This is something that in the past I dreaded doing, but now I am starting to find that it's not as bad as I thought. A good friend once told me that styling is not something that you can be taught, "you either have it or you don't". Well, I believe this to be true but, sometimes it has to be brought out of a person. Fashion has always been a love of mine since high school days when I worked in retail. I've always loved putting together looks and altering clothing.
Recently, I styled a vintage themed shoot for models from Look Modeling Agency. I was nervous at first but after finding inspiration and doing a little homework, I embraced it with everything in my heart.
Something I'm focusing on this year is stretching myself creatively with my shoots. This means being totally involved in the whole process. I start off with a vision and bring it to life with hair, make up, and of course fashion. I don't stop there, after I have put together specific ideas I come up with location and posing. I interact with the models during the shoot to get the results I want to achieve. I am continually browsing magazines. I subscribe to Vanity Fair, Teen Vogue and NYLON. I buy VOGUE occasionally. I receive the and the Urban Outfitters catalog seasonally.
Of course there is a lot more work involved in doing this type of shoot, but the end results are well worth it. After completing a recent shoot I sent the final images over to several magazines and I am grateful to say that one of them selected my work to be featured in their next issue! This type of thing, makes everything seem perfect!
Here's a few of my recent photos where styling and art direction was all performed by yours truly..

I've recently been invited by Bow's & Arrow's Vintage boutique to display my work for their Nov. 2nd Saturday Art Walk. 2nd Saturday Art Walk is a Sacramento event that takes place every month in Midtown, artist display their work and people come out and see art and music and enjoy some great food in the process.
So, today I am going through all of my images to decide which ones to have printed. I'm excited to be display my work and have it printed large scale. I haven't shown any of my work since moving to California and I think this will give me some much needed exposure as well as a boost to get out and show my work more. I haven't decided weather I want to display large scale beauty shots or focus on just fashion. I want to captivate the audience with whatever I decide.
When preparing for a show, their is a lot of thought and work that goes into the process. First, I need to decide how many pieces I want to show and next how big. So, far I have decided that I want at least 5 20x24 pieces for the back wall. Considering that I am on a budget the others will be smaller but, haven't decided how small. I will have to do more research and find out what is standard for display size.
I will keep this update with details about the show, as I would like all of my friends and family to come out and see my work!
